WANT TO
SUBMIT YOUR WORK?
We're always looking for new material.
Please send 10-12 pages (maximum) of your screenplay to rawwordreadings@yahoo.com.
Please only send your materials in Word or PDF format. DO NOT send full
scripts.
- Include your name and telephone number on your submission.
- DO NOT name the file RAW WORD. Please name the file the title
of your piece and your name.
- Provide a brief introduction if you feel it will help the reader get
his or her bearings.
- The excerpt does not have to be the first 10-12 pages of your script.
The scenes do not have to be consecutive.
- If you're submitting several different pieces do not attach them all
to one email. Send a separate email for each submission.
The Raw Word takes no responsibility to protect work that you've submitted.
Please take care to protect your script by registering it with the WGA,
copywriting it or both.
Since The Raw Word is monthly there is NO deadline. We read every
excerpt that is submitted.
WHAT ARE WE LOOKING FOR?
We're looking for dynamic pieces. Keep in mind that this is a live event.
The excerpts performed must grab the audience's attention quickly. A
lot of narrative description is not effective and will work against you in
the review process. In addition, the plot must move forward
and it's best (although not required) if the piece "up-ends" (ends
in a suspenseful conclusion).
